Busy Bees

The girls love to set up beds in the living room for themselves and their dolls. Aaron enjoys snuggling with them too. It's one of the only times he'll lay still and not roll all over everything. And I don't know why Maggie has no clothes on. It definitely couldn't be because she spilled her whole cup of milk in her lap or was covered with globs of oatmeal after breakfast and I got sidetracked before getting her dressed. Nope. That never happens.
Look at my sweet boy. He's getting so big! He'll be 9 months old this coming Friday. He loves this alligator toy too. He knows where the balls come out of the mouth and can pick them up and put them back in all by himself to make it start back up. Sigh... time goes too fast.
We're not huge fans of finger paint around here. Norah never liked getting her hands dirty, and Maggie has started to be sensitive to that too. So this was our solution. Finger paint in a ziploc, taped to the table. They could paint and mix with their fingers and Q-tips.
Norah enjoyed writing letters too!
Aaron currently weighs only 1 or 2 pounds less than Maggie. I call her my tiny dancer. By the way, she's potty trained! We tried right after her birthday, but she wasn't going for it. We figured out the problem. She hated the cute little potty that sits by itself (and I hated emptying it and cleaning it all the time). She's all about the big potty. We started Saturday of last week and she hasn't had an accident since Monday! We've left the house for several hours with her in undies 4 times now with no problems.
It's getting nice out sporadically now! Thank goodness Grandma (and the faithful Kohls employee) searched high and low to find matching rain boots. It's so nice to just hose all that mud off.
Check out Maggie's pony tail! Now if only we could get that wind to settle down a bit. Let me explain. We live up on a hill surrounded (I mean it, on all sides!) by fields and there are very few trees to break the wind. Whew, a 5 mph breeze in the city is easily 20 mph here. ALL. THE. TIME. I just had someone from church tell me that she'd take her son out in shorts and a t-shirt with a HAT!
It was 76 degrees (but didn't feel like it, remember the wind?) on Tuesday. We skipped naps and washed the truck. The girls had a blast! Maggie was absolutely SOAKED.
Happy little cleaner. Do you think we can encourage this to continue until she's a teenager?

Norah was little miss perfection! Wouldn't know where she gets that from...

After some dry pants, it was time for bike riding (in the garage, because the gravel was way too soft). I'm going to make this girl an obstacle course, she rocked!
As long as we're pretending it's summer, let's have some popsicles. They didn't want the frozen ones though, so they just drank the juice of the a plastic tube. Whatever.
We didn't really let him have any, but he was sure interested in chewing on it. Must be that first tooth he just got! :) Bottom, right center.
And this was Maggie's second popsicle. You can see what happened to it... much like the first one she dumped mostly on the garage floor. It's still sticky. I think we went through 3 changes of clothes!
